EVILE is not the typical “band you should know”. They made a big splash when they came on the scene in 2004 and were even lauded as the front-runner of thrash’s revival. However, EVILE hasn’t released any new music since 2013 due to numerous line-up changes, band turmoil, break-ups, etc. So why are they a band we should pay attention to in 2020? Because EVILE is back with their classic line-up and are putting the finishing touches on a new album! The band hails from Huddersfield, England and has received critical acclaim by fans and critics alike throughout their history. They’ve also had a fair amount of commercial success (their debut album Enter the Grave has sold more than 30,000 copies). Prior to the long hiatus, EVILE had built a lot of momentum for themselves. As we look forward to their new album, it will be intriguing to see if they can recapture the magic!

HOW THEY GOT ON MY RADAR
I ran across the “Thrasher” music video on YouTube completely by mistake. The song wasn’t revolutionary but the opening guitar riff really stood out and got me to look more into the band!
The first album I found during my research was Five Serpent’s Teeth. The album is a perfect mix of classic thrash (circa METALLICA & SLAYER) and a unique EVILE sound.
